There are so many things to do in Wichita this Fall. We have compiled a list of events happening in and around town. Celebrate the changing of the leaves with some fall shopping, events, festivals, and more. It’s time for cozy sweaters, warm pumpkin-spiced drinks, and, best of all, Fall events.

KAWnsas Fest

  • August 26, 2023
  • Saint George, KS (Roughly 2 hours and 20 min from Wichita) 
  • It is the biggest, small-town music festival. You are invited to join the cozy Kansas River City (Saint George, Kansas) for a whole day filled with fun for all to enjoy! You definitely won’t want to miss this year’s live music line-up, delicious food, classic car show, art & craft vendors, cornhole tournament, and much MUCH more!

Southside Food Truck Rally

  • September 2, 2023

  • They will have vendors from 10 am to 3 pm and the Southside food truck rally. 

Atlanta, KS Labor Day Celebration

  • September 2 – 4, 2023
  • Atlanta, KS (Roughly 1 hour from Wichita) 
  • This event generally features lots of activities and events such as a parade, FREE concert, fun tournaments, party at the ball fields, car show, a beer garden, BBQ lunch, and tons more.

ICT Fest

  • September 7 – 9, 2023
  • Wichita, KS (locations vary)
  • This event continues its tradition of great local music across Wichita. This year, the concerts will be held at multiple local bars and music venues such as Kirby’s and WAVE. All ages are welcome.

Kansas State Fair

Water Lantern Festival

  • Water Lantern Festival is filled with fun, happiness, hope, and great memories that you’ll cherish for a lifetime. This is a family-friendly event that everyone can share. Fiesta Hipana

Orie’s Garlic Fest

  • This is an annual food festival that pays homage to—what else? Garlic! Walnut Valley Music Festival

  • September 13- 17, 2023
  • Windfield, KS (roughly 50 min from Wichita)

  • This is a celebration of acoustic music, especially bluegrass. It is affectionately known as “Winfield” throughout the world and attracts top artists from around the country, as well as a host of local and regional musicians.

Latinfest

  • September 16, 2023
  • Old Town
  • 10 am – 10 pm 
  • Latin Fest ICT  is a unique cultural festival celebrating diversity during Hispanic Heritage Month. There will be presentations, exhibitions, games, live performances, and authentic Latino food and merchandise vendors. Plus a diverse array of other performance groups, live bands, and more. You won’t want to miss this unique showcase of Latin music and dance.

Kansas Rail Fest

  • September 16, 2023

  • Great Plains Transportation Museum
  • This one-of-a-kind event celebrates the history of railroads in Kansas and beyond. They will have lots of activities for the whole family.

The City of Gold Festival 

  • September 16 – 23, 2023
    • September 23rd is the big black party
  • El Dorado, KS (Roughly 30 min from Wichita) 
  • All week, there are activities like mud volleyball, pour and paint, Miss El Dorado pageant, bingo, medallion hut, trivia night, karaoke, and more.

Open Streets ICT

  • September 17, 2023
  • Wichita, KS down Douglas Ave. 
  • Wichita Parks and Recreation will host another Open Streets ICT – a FREE event in Wichita, KS. Over 100 vendors will be in attendance. Open Streets ICT brings Wichitans of all ages downtown for an active, fun, community-building afternoon on Wichita’s iconic Douglas Avenue.

The City of Gold Block Party

Crave Culinary Festival

  • September 19 – 23, 2023
    • September 19 – 22, they will have different classes and workshops. 
    • The Crave Foodie Fair is on September 23 from Noon – 2 pm

Wagonmaster’s Downtown Chili Cookoff

  • With the days beginning to cool off – what better way to celebrate than a hot spicy bowl of chili?  Competitor teams all across Kansas and surrounding states will battle for the best chili in the midwest!

Prairieland Beer and Music Festival

  • September 30th
  • Hyde Park, KS 
  • 1:00 – 4:30 pm 
  • Hosted by the Kansas Craft Brewers Guild, this event includes over 100 beer samples from 40+ breweries from Kansas and surrounding states. This year’s festival will be held in Hyde park to enjoy the shade from a tree canopy. In addition to the unlimited brew samples, this event also plays host to several talented bands for a full afternoon of entertainment.

Great Plains Renaissance Festival

Prost’s Oktoberfest
