Within Wichita, we have the Bradley Fair tree lighting and the City of Wichita tree lighting. But our friends to the south will be lighting their city tree soon as well. The City of Derby tree lighting will take place on Tuesday, November 30 at 6 p.m. What fun!
The mayor will kick off the holiday season in Derby with the tree lighting.
They’ll have goodies like free kettle corn and cookies. Food trucks will also be there so you can get something more substantial for supper. Unfortunately, Santa will not be able to attend that evening, but you can catch him at one of his other scheduled appearances in the area.
The festivities will happen in Madison Avenue Central Park beginning at 6 p.m. that evening. Don’t miss it if you live, work, shop or play in Derby!
Be sure to follow the Facebook event page in case there are any weather-related schedule changes. With all the weather ups and downs we’ve had in the past, who can tell?
