Halloween isn’t just for the kids! Our four-legged family members deserve to get in on the Halloween fun, too. Wichita has several dog-friendly Halloween events where you can dress up your pup, enter a dog costume contest, and enjoy some fall fun together.
If you know me, you know my dogs are truly part of our family. We have two dogs, Teddy and Roy, and they go almost everywhere with me when I can bring them.
They’re also unofficial members of the Wichita on the Cheap team. Both Teddy and Roy have their dog beds right next to my computer desk at home, so while I’m writing articles, finding deals, and keeping the website updated, they’re usually right there with me. I like to call them my Wichita on the Cheap support dogs.
So naturally, I had to make a list just for them!

Halloween Fun for Wichita Dogs
One of my favorite things about Halloween dog events is seeing all the costumes. There is something ridiculously cute about a dog dressed like a taco, superhero, pumpkin, or whatever creative costume their family comes up with.
And you don’t necessarily need to have the best costume to join in. These events are also a fun excuse to get your dog out of the house, meet other Wichita dog owners, take some adorable Halloween pictures, and spend a little extra time with your four-legged best friend.
Below, I’m rounding up Wichita-area dog Halloween events, pet costume contests, and other dog-friendly Halloween activities happening this year.

A Few Tips Before You Go
Halloween events can be busy, so make sure the event is a good fit for your dog before bringing them along. I always think about whether Teddy and Roy will be comfortable with the crowds, other dogs, costumes, and noise.
Bring a leash, water, and anything else your pup might need, and check each event’s individual rules before heading out. Some events may have specific requirements for pets or costume contests.
And, of course, make sure your dog’s costume is comfortable and doesn’t restrict their movement, vision, or breathing.
