The 2019 Wichita Wagonmaster Chili Cookoff will be held Saturday, September 28 in Downtown Wichita.
Teams of chili-makin’ Wichitans will gather under tents downtown to compete for the title of best chili in town. Judges will decide which team makes it to the International Chili Society World’s Championship Chili Cookoff, but you can decide for yourself which chili is best during the public tasting.
Tasting kits can be purchased at the event and I believe they’re only $5. (That’s been the price in past years, anyway.) Public tasting begins at noon.
The chili cookoff will be held in the 200 block of West Douglas Avenue, in front of Century II.
Teams from Kansas and surrounding states will compete for big prizes. You’ll also be able to enjoy live music, other fun activities, pop, water, and beer; the kids will have a play zone too.
Proceeds from the event go to the Good Life Grant, which benefits local charities.
