Wichita Festivals and Bradley Fair have teamed up to present Autumn and Art, a weekend-long fine arts fair that will be held at Bradley Fair from September 17-19, 2010. This will be a juried art show that brings in artists from across the U.S., including some from right here in Kansas.
The show will include a wide variety of visual art in media like ceramics, fiber, glass, metal, and wood and categories that include digital art, drawing, graphics and printmaking, jewelry, photography, mixed-media, sculpture, and painting.
The first evening of the event (Friday) is far from cheap: tickets to attend the exclusive preview party catered by YiaYia’s Bistro are $100.
But on Saturday and Sunday, Autumn and Art will be free for everyone. In addition to shopping for art and grabbing lunch from one of nine restaurant booths that will be set up, you and the kids will also be able to participate in hands-on art activities at the Family Art Pavilion sponsored by the Wichita Center for the Arts.
All activities at the Family Art Pavilion are free, and include glass painting, face painting, magic noodles, a color station, and take-home three-dimensional and two-dimensional art projects.
You can also sign up to win a beautiful fall pastel by Don Coons entitled Autumn Passage.
Musicians will perform throughout the day at the Music tent near the center of the art walk (also near the Food tents and the Family Pavilion). See the schedule of performances.
