About the Wichita Flea Market

This is the biggest flea market in Wichita, with hundreds of high-quality vendors of all types with treasures. And because it’s indoors, the flea market will happen rain or shine. It’s the place to be on a weekend day.

There will be a concession stand at each market, and each location is climate-controlled, so you can shop comfortably – unlike the old Coliseum flea market, which would get pretty sticky in the summertime!

Flea markets are a treasure trove of unique finds and hidden gems. Here are some tips to make the most of your flea market adventures:

  1. Early Bird Gets the Worm: Arrive early for the best selection. The early hours often have the freshest items, and you might snag some great deals before the crowds descend.
  2. Cash is King: Bring cash in small denominations. Some vendors may not accept cards, and having exact change can speed up transactions.
  3. Negotiate with Respect: Haggling is part of the flea market experience, but be polite and respectful. Start with a friendly greeting, express genuine interest, and negotiate with a smile.
  4. Know Your Budget: Set a budget before you go to avoid overspending. It’s easy to get carried away with the excitement of unique finds.
  5. Bring a Tote Bag: A reusable tote or backpack is handy for carrying your purchases. It’s eco-friendly and keeps your hands free for browsing.
  6. Dress Comfortably: Wear comfortable shoes and clothing. You might be doing a lot of walking and rummaging through piles, so comfort is key.
  7. Bring Snacks and Water: Flea markets can be tiring, so stay hydrated and keep some snacks on hand to keep your energy up.
  8. Inspect Items Thoroughly: Examine items closely before purchasing, especially if they’re vintage or secondhand. Check for any damages or defects.
  9. Be Open-Minded: You never know what unique items you might find, so be open to the unexpected. Embrace the thrill of the hunt!
  10. Build Relationships: If you’re a regular at a particular flea market, getting to know vendors can lead to better deals and insider tips on upcoming items.

  1. Could someone give me info or a number to call to become a vendor at the flea market at kansas star casino please and thank you.

  2. Since they will be moving out to the Kansas Star, my family will not be going anymore. That is too far and I don’t gamble.

    1. Hi Bev. I wanted to let you know that the Kansas Star is not all that far, depending on where you live. (It’s only about 20 minutes from downtown Wichita.) They had to move because they couldn’t get the dates they needed at Century II and the Kansas Star has a big facility that can accommodate the very large flea market.

I don’t gamble either, and it isn’t required to visit the Wichita Flea Market. Of course, it’s totally up to you! But I just wanted to clarify those two things.

  3. Would love free tickets to the Wichita Flea Market! My husband (of 41 years tomorrow) and I share the love of flea markets and antiques! We are so glad that you were able to bring it back to Wichita we appreciate all your hard work to make it happen.

  4. used to love going to flea market on weekends when it was on Meridian loved to buy all kinds of things for Christmas presents and birthday presents out there. was sad when they closed would love to be able to win tickets to go and check it out again.

  5. I enjoy going to the flea market to see different items from the vendors. I would love to be the winner of two free tickets. Thank you.

  6. I moved to the Wichita area a couple of years ago & haven’t been to the Flea Market yet. I sounds amazing though!!

  7. we attended a show just before Christmas and found presents galore! We have been to two other shows and weren’t disappointed! I love not having to drive all over town to different places because there’s lots all in one place! Indoors, well organized and friendly vendors.

  8. Change my luck, I never win anything, but maybe this time I can win two tickets and enjoy being retired and spending the day with a friend.

    Thanks, Charlene

  9. We have out of town friends who are coming specifically for this sale. I would love to give them free tickets.

  10. Flea markets are awesome! A chance to find treasure, reminisce about when we were younger and took these items for granted, and to ponder where these items had been, who owned them, what stories could they tell?

  11. It would be lovely to spend the day with two of my sister’s laughing and having fun at the Wichita flea market. Hoping you draw my name for the free tickets.

  12. sorry if there’s a duplicate of this but the first comment when I submitted it,I could never find it in the thread. I’d love to go and take my daughter, please enter me to win

  13. Thanks for always keeping us in the loop with happenings and goings on in our area. I’d love to win and if I did, I’d take my daughter

  14. No fuss from me and I am very appreciative of all you do. . I would love to win two free passes. Your column is great and has been very helpful for me and my family when looking for stuff to do around this area.

  15. Please enter me for free pass to the Flea Market! Never been, would love to go. Thanks for all the great info you provide on “Wichita on the Cheap”!

  16. Please sign me up for the drawing for free tickets. Loved the flea market when out at the Ks Coliseum, but have not been since then. Thanks!

  19. Free passes would be awesome! We so appreciate vendors both local and travelling that bring new items each month. Have decorated our home and even given gifts to friends and family from items we bought. We are even thinking of selling at a booth ourselves to share some of our collection of goodies. Thank you for the fleamarket.

  20. Would love 2 tickets to the flea market this weekend. And thanks for all the great information you give to us.

  21. Anyone know the name of the pretzel and cheese maker that was selling at the concession stand 2 weeks ago? They were amazing.

  22. The promoters have donated a booth to a local dog rescue:-) Wichita Pug Rescue will have items for sale, a Pug kissing booth and a couple of adoptable Pugs to meet on site. That alone is worth the price of admission!!

  23. I agree there should not be an admission charge to go to a flea market. Big turn-off. Century II is notorious for having a premium to attend any event there.

    1. This event is arranged by private individuals not the Coliseum. They have to rent the space from the colleseum. Would you do all this work for free?

  24. Your admission fee is too high for a flea market. I may go once, but not much more after that. What about parking? Is there a charge for that? If so, I might just go to a regular store with free parking and free admission.

    Thanks

    1. That’s a good question about parking. I’ll see if I can find out if you have to feed the meter in the Century II lot. For sure there is free parking at Waterwalk, though.

In case it wasn’t clear in the post above, admission for one day of the flea market is only $3. There is a discount if you want to go both days, where admission (for both days) is $5.
