Not everyone opts for the traditional large family setting for Thanksgiving dinner, as some prefer to go out for the big meal. If you’re planning on skipping all the cooking and dish-cleaning this year and looking for places to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner on the go, we’ve got you covered with a list of Wichita restaurants open on Thanksgiving.
We advise you call ahead and ask about making reservations, as many of these opportunities will likely fill up quickly between now and Thanksgiving.
Admittedly, some of the Thanksgiving buffets stray pretty far from our definition of “cheap.” A few are definitely splurges, but they’ll free up your time and energy for more fun with your family.

6S Steakhouse will be open all day on Thanksgiving (from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.) with a classic buffet of both traditional Thanksgiving favorites and favorite 6S menu items. Adult buffet is $34 per person, and $15 per child 8 years old and younger. Call (316) 631-6667 or email reservations@6sSteakhouse.com to reserve your spot.
Ceasar’s Table — It’s the Thanksgiving buffet families dream about, a favorite with many residents. The downtown Wichita restaurant is serving from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. but they encourage you to call ahead for reservations (316) 946-5879. Prices will be $17.95 for adults and $7.95 per child. Kids 5 and under eat free.
Country Kitchen in Best Western Wichita North has an all-you-can eat Thanksgiving day buffet planned. The Thanksgiving feast is served from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a (relatively) yummy price tag: $17.99 for adults, $15.99 for seniors. Reservations are recommended but not required.
Cracker Barrel – On Thanksgiving Day, Cracker Barrel will serve a special in-store Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. to close. This traditional Homestyle Turkey n’ Dressing Meal comes complete with turkey, gravy, a sampling of sugar-cured ham, sweet potato casserole, cranberry relish, choice of a country side, a refillable beverage, buttermilk biscuits or corn muffins, and a slice of pumpkin pie for dessert. This bountiful feast is available for $12.99 ($7.99 for children). Cracker Barrel also has a to-go option we’ve listed in a separate section below.
Denny’s – The famous breakfast chain will be open all day on Thanksgiving. You can enjoy the Turkey and Dressing dinner (includes carved turkey breast, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, two sides, and dinner bread), or you pick from the regular menu options.
Dudley’s Irish Pub on West 21st Street will be open and serving Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Golden Corral – As you might expect, their buffet will include everyone’s favorites: carved turkey, fried chicken, rotisserie chicken, ham, meatloaf, and much more. The price will be a little higher on Thanksgiving day than it normally is.
Hyatt Regency – Start a new tradition by enjoying Thanksgiving Day Brunch at the Hyatt Regency Wichita. Seating will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and reservations can be made at (316) 613-6400. The menu will feature breakfast items like assorted danish, muffins, bacon, and sausage. Meanwhile, entrees include everything from oven-roasted chicken breasts, to braised short ribs, to pan-fried catfish (and yes, traditional turkey with gravy, cranberry sauce, chutney, and jelly).
There’s even a children’s buffet with kid favorites like chicken fingers, beef sliders, mac-n-cheese, glazed carrots, and cherry Jello.
The adult buffet is $32.95 per adult plus 18% gratuity and sales tax. Youth buffet (ages 5-12) is $14. Free for 4 and younger.
Two Olives will not only have Thanksgiving brunch, but they’re getting a special visit from Santa and his reindeer! The buffet for the day will lean heavily toward traditional American Thanksgiving favorites but will still include the vegan, vegetarian, and Mediterranean specialties they’re known for. Adult buffets are $28 ($25 for seniors), $12 for kids ages 5-12. Buffet starts at 10 a.m. with the last seating at 2 p.m.
Walt’s Restaurant in east Wichita won’t be serving Thanksgiving dinner, but they will be open later on Thanksgiving day. Celebrate with the Walt’s crowd at a Thanksgiving Day party from 5 p.m. until 1:30 a.m.
Thanksgiving Dinner To Go
Carrabba’s in Wichita will have new made-from-scratch Take & Bake dishes for those who want an Italian Thanksgiving feast. Choose from ready-to-bake pasta dishes like their signature Lasagne Bolognese, Penne Carrabba with Chicken, Pumpkin Mascarpone Ravioli or Rigatoni al Forno with Sausage, sides such as Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Creamed Spinach or Mac n’ Cheese among other side dishes, as well as soups, salads and desserts such as Pumpkin Bread Pudding. Order ahead by calling Carrabba’s Wichita location.
Cracker Barrel is offering a Heat n’ Serve Holiday Family Meal To-Go can be picked up beginning on Saturday, November 23 through Sunday, December 1. The hassle-free holiday meal serves up to 10 and costs around $125. (Price might vary depending on location.) Dillons is a go-to choice for Thanksgiving dinner. Their delicious options include just about every traditional, classic dish you could want. The prices are great too. A Home Chef boneless turkey dinner that serves 4-6 is only $55. And you can order online, so it’s even more convenient than it used to be.
Sprouts Farmers Market will have fully-cooked meals for 6 to 8 people include an all-natural turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, creamed kale & spinach, home-style gravy, cranberry sauce and Hawaiian dinner rolls, $69.99. There’s also a Boneless Turkey Breast Meal for 2 with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce and rolls for $35.99. Order online at Sprouts website or call 888-5-SPROUT. (If you reserve your meal before November 22, you can get 10% off your entire purchase at pickup.)
Two Olives/Olive Tree Catering is offering a full Thanksgiving dinner to-go and a special gift for those who order it: a free pie. A “small” turkey dinner serves up to 16 and costs $175, or you can go large for up to 22 of your closest friends and relatives for $239.
Whole Foods Market in Wichita has whole turkey dinners to go, including a vegan option (serves 2) that is under $40. A classic roast turkey dinner for 4 starts at around $80 and goes up from there.
