The Wichita Park and Recreation department has a mobile “recreation station” designed to encourage folks to visit our public parks and promote getting outside, getting active, and having fun.
The Recreation Station launched in 2015, and offers great, FREE things for kids and families to do throughout this summer and fall!
These free family play days will take place at various parks around Wichita and include themed play, activities like obstacle courses, hula hoops, bubbles, games, or relays, plus play equipment like stilts, washers, disc golf and kites. This will be a great opportunity to get out and explore Wichita’s parks and playgrounds.
It’s really awesome that we can just stop in and play for free!

- March 11-15 – Spring Break at Great Plains Nature Center
- April 13 – Bunny Blast and Egg Hunt $5 per carload.
- May 4 – Come Fly a Kite

If your kids are 12 or younger, don’t forget to sign up for the FREE City Crew Club (formerly Barry’s Crew) club for kids. They have events scheduled throughout the year, and kids get special rewards for attending and birthday perks.
