The Great Plains Nature Center has decided to close beginning March 16 until further notice. You can read their announcement here.
But they are streaming their presentations via Facebook Live so you can still learn and enjoy! Go here to see the presentations.
Bring the kids to experience new things, gain some new skills, and enjoy nature with you. (Children must be accompanied by an adult.)
The theme this year is “Guardians of the Great Plains.”
Each day of spring break nature week will focus on celebrating “conservationists throughout the world and how they have contributed to making making our planet a better place.”
The whole family will learn with hands-on activities, special programs or presentations, crafts, daily guided hikes, and more from the naturalists who work there.
Here’s the schedule:
- Crafts and activities each day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Naturalist programs each day at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
- Hikes each day at 11 a.m.
Themes for each day:
- Mammal Mimic Monday
- Tree Tapper Tuesday
- “Give a Hoot, Don’t Pollute” Wednesday
- Threatened Thursday
- Safari Friday
The spring break activities at Great Plains Nature Center promise to be fun and educational for the whole family.
No pre-registration is required! Activities will be held rain or shine at The Great Plains Nature Center during the week of spring break
March 16-20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
