Wichita, KS. March 11-15, 2019 – The Great Plains Nature Center will once again host a spring break nature week!
Bring the kids to experience new things, gain some new skills, and enjoy nature with you. (Children must be accompanied by an adult.)
The theme this year is “Under the Stream.”
Each day of spring break nature week will focus on exploring the streams on the GPNC grounds. The kids will learn with hands-on activities, special programs or presentations, crafts, daily guided hikes, and more from the naturalists who work there.
Here’s what we know so far of their schedule:
- Muddy Monday: water bugs, crayfish, and mussels
- Turtle Tuesday: learn about these shell-y friends
- Waterfowl Wednesday: ducks, geese, and herons
- Tadpole Thursday: all about frogs
- Fish Friday: minnows, catfish, and more
The spring break activities at Great Plains Nature Center promise to be fun and educational for the whole family.
No pre-registration is required! Activities will be held rain or shine at The Great Plains Nature Center during the week of spring break March 11-15, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
