Sharing is caring!
You probably already know that admission to the Wichita Art Museum permanent collection is free, but many people do not realize the museum also hosts free Family ArtVenture activities on select Saturdays of most months.
These family-friendly events include hands-on art projects, gallery activities, and creative experiences inspired by the artwork throughout the museum. No reservations are needed, and guests can drop in anytime during the event. Stay for a quick project or spend the whole time exploring and creating together.

They call it Family Artventure. You can stop by any time between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to complete an art project with the kids – just pick up an activity sheet at the front desk when you arrive and then head to the children’s area on the lower level of the museum.
Family Artventure activities are different each month, so you’ll learn something new each time. To check the schedule and see more information about this month’s Artventure, visit the Wichita Art Museums Family ArtVenture webpage. Schedules are always subject to change, so it’s a good idea to double-check before you head out.
Don’t forget that the Museum’s PLAY Area in the basement is always free to visit too. Kids can enjoy books, crafts, hands-on activities, and a fun indoor space designed just for creative play and exploration. It is a great free indoor option for younger kids while visiting the Wichita Art Museum.
