One of my favorite free events in Wichita every year is back for Fall 2021. Bring blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy the FREE Wichita Ballet in the Park again this year!
The Wichita Ballet will perform a re-imagined production of Carnival of Animals at various parks in and around Wichita.
This is a wonderful experience and very family-friendly! The performances only last about 45 minutes and are usually followed by a meet and greet with company dancers.
You have several FREE Ballet in the Park performances from which to choose:
Fall Ballet in the Park performances
So far I’m only seeing two fall performances of Ballet in the Park. Here they are:
- Friday, Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Naftzger Park, 601 E. Douglas Ave. in Wichita
- Saturday, September 11 at 6:30 p.m. at The Venue at Madison Avenue Central Park in Derby
You’ll want to bring your blankets and lawn chairs (and costumes and tutus!), and arrive early to get a good spot.
Ballet in the Park is a FREE event for all ages! Share it with your friends!

It would be great of there was more than one performance for each town
It would be great for us to be there for more than just one performance if attendance and sponsorships could justify it. Please talk to your local organizers, we are very interested in expanding our Ballet in the Park series.
There is a map of Mulvane shown, will it be there also? Thank you.
Also there are two times listed for Maize, 2 and 3 pm
The Mulvane performance was earlier this summer, and the map seems to just be hanging on even though that event is over. (I’ll see if we can get that to go away somehow. Sorry!)
The Maize performance is from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Just one performance, beginning at 2 p.m.!
