One of my favorite free events in Wichita every year is back for Spring 2025. Bring blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy the FREE Wichita Ballet in the Park again this year!
Family-friendly performances are held in parks in Wichita and surrounding communities, and feature a new production each year. It’s a relaxed and casual atmosphere where those in attendance can meet and mingle with the dancers after the show. Be sure not to miss this opportunity to enjoy an outdoor ballet performance in Wichita.
This year, Ballet Wichita will perform Sleeping Beauty at various parks in and around Wichita.

Past productions of Ballet in the Park include Thumbelina, Tom Sawyer, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Little Mermaid, Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, Snow White, Peter and the Wolf and Prairie Tales.
This is a wonderful experience and very family-friendly! The performances only last about 45 minutes to an hour and are usually followed by a meet and greet with company dancers.
You have several FREE Ballet in the Park performances to choose from.

Guests can step into the world of Sleeping Beauty and take home a piece of the fairytale magic. Dancers have hand-crafted unique fairytale crowns, each one inspired by the enchanting characters seen on stage, princesses, fairies, and magical creatures from deep within the enchanted forest.
For just $5.00, attendees can purchase a crown at any performance (while supplies last) and receive their very own fairytale name, bestowed like a royal blessing. Visitors are invited to stop by the Fairytale Crown table and let the magic begin! The event is free, but Fairy Crowns are $5.

You’ll want to bring your blankets and lawn chairs (and costumes and tutus!), and arrive early to get a good spot.

It would be great of there was more than one performance for each town
It would be great for us to be there for more than just one performance if attendance and sponsorships could justify it. Please talk to your local organizers, we are very interested in expanding our Ballet in the Park series.
There is a map of Mulvane shown, will it be there also? Thank you.
Also there are two times listed for Maize, 2 and 3 pm
The Mulvane performance was earlier this summer, and the map seems to just be hanging on even though that event is over. (I’ll see if we can get that to go away somehow. Sorry!)
The Maize performance is from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Just one performance, beginning at 2 p.m.!
