The Wichita Park and Recreation department has a new mobile “recreation station” designed to encourages folks to visit our public parks.
Recreation Station, launched for the first time on April 11, will make a stop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at downtown Naftzger Park. They’ll have organized activities, including games, sports, a checkers tournament, a timed obstacle course, a jump-rope contest, prizes, and more. Barry the Bison, the new Wichita Park and Recreation mascot, will be there to say hi to the kiddos. Food trucks will also be parked nearby!
Naftzger, located at 601 E. Douglas, will be a regular Saturday stop through May 23. This is a gorgeous city park with a gazebo, a decorative waterfall and the Carry Nation Fountain. Bring your camera for some awesome family pictures.
Park and Recreation staffers on Saturday will be asking for feedback from residents. That feedback will help determine future destinations for Barry’s Recreation Station, so share your thoughts!
