Here’s yet another entry in the category of Free Stuff for Kids to Do in Wichita: Kids ages 5 to 12 years will enjoy a morning of free outdoor fun at OJ Watson Park’s annual “O.K. Kids Day” on Saturday, May 4, 2019.
They’ll have tons of free, kid-friendly activities from 9 a.m. to noon.
From 9 a.m. to noon, kids can do things like fish, play miniature golf, disc golf, snag golf, ride the train, paddle a kayak, try some archery, and more – all for free!
(The exact activities have not been announced for this year, but those are things that were included in the past. Keep an eye out for more details.)
Fishing poles and bait are usually provided, but there will only be so many to go around so get to the park early and make sure you register as soon as you get there.
There will also be a limited supply of free T-shirts, hot dogs for the kids, and prizes to be given away while they last.
If you’d like to make a day of it, bring a little spending money. Beginning at noon, Watson Park goes back to its regular paid concessions, pony and train rides, mini golf, and pedal boats, each for a small fee.
I’m thinking parents might want to bring along some lawn chairs, water, sunscreen, and most certainly a camera!
For more information, to ask questions, or to find out about any possible changes or weather-related cancellations, be sure to check out the OJ Watson Park Facebook event page or see the Wichita Park and Recreation Activities Guide.
