O.K. Kids Day at the Great Plains Nature Center will be a FREE event on June 5 for kids of all ages.

This year’s OK Kids Day (2021) will be super fun. This is also FREE fishing weekend, so you can enjoy some fishing in the ponds as well.

From 10 am. – 1 pm. Chisholm Creek Park will be full of opportunities for outdoor fun, including: fishing at Island Pond, learning and practicing archery, a close encounter with something scaly, feeding the turtles, ducks, and other critters along the creek, and answering riddles for prizes!

The forecast shows sunny weather, so be sure to bring some water along with you to drink, and you might want to wear a hat and sunscreen to help protect yourself!

Outdoor Kansas Kids (O.K. Kids) is a statewide program coordinated by Kansas Wildscape. The mission of O.K. Kids is “To provide multiple outdoor recreation opportunities for Kansas youth with adult partnering and mentoring to encourage outdoor recreational opportunities, and promote and provide an active lifestyle as an alternative to sedentary activities.”

To find other OK Kids Day events in Kansas, see the Kansas Wildscape’s website here.

At the Great Plains Nature Center O.K. Kids Day event, they usually have lots of fun and free activities,  including things like crafts, hikes, archery, fishing, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Kids – and probably a lot of us parents – will experience new things, gain some new skills, and enjoy nature.

The theme for the O.K. Kids Day event at the GPNC  changes each year and will focus on topics that encourage kids to enjoy the outdoors. The games, crafts, and activities will all reflect the theme. This is an event suitable for all ages.

Admission to OK Kids Day at the GPNC is completely free!
