Get in the Christmas spirit with El Dorado’s Old Fashioned Christmas parade, tree lighting and festivities!
Celebrate the holidays the old fashioned way on Saturday, December 7, 2019 in El Dorado, KS. There will be a full day of Christmas activities including a craft fair, parade, a chance to visit with Santa and activities at the Kansas Oil Museum. The celebration will last from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Admission is free to all events! That is of course unless you decide to purchase food or gifts throughout the day from vendors.
El Dorado Hometown Christmas Activities
(In Downtown El Dorado)
The celebration begins with a Holiday Extravaganza Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Civic Center. (201 E. Central)
Warm cookies will be served to everyone coming to get their photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus at “Santa Central” a.k.a. Charley’s Appliance from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. (130 N. Main)
There will also be tiny Christmas dancers from El Dorado Dance Center performing for Santa and children at 3:15 p.m. at Charley’s Appliance.
Join in the pre-parade live music and caroling from 5 p.m. to 5:25 p.m. (Main and Central)
Watch the Christmas Parade at 5:30 p.m. The parade route starts at 4th and Main, and travels south to Ash and Main.
After the parade, go to the Butler County Courthouse to watch the Christmas Tree Lighting at 6:15 p.m. There will be live music and a Candy Cane Giveaway.

There will be additional activities held at the Kansas Oil Museum from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Walk down Candy Cane Lane to the Kansas Oil Museum at 6:15 p.m. (383 E. Central)
- Visit with Santa and get your photo taken from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Santa will arrive after the tree lighting.)
