Fall Holloween Events September 2023: 

Movie at the Klausemeyer Farm – September 23

This is a family favorite, and it’s FREE! They will be playing Hocus Pocus this year. They will have their kettle corn and movie on the lawn at the farm. Bring your lawn chair, blankets,t air mattress, or whatever to get cozy. There is plenty of room. They will also have their Zombie paintball, haunted barn, and flashlight maze open.

Fall Holloween Events October 2023: 

Jack O’Lantern-Spectacular – October 5 – 7 & 13 – 14 

Celebrate the spooky season at Botanica’s Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular! Join us the first two weekends of October to marvel at over 1,000 Jack-o-lanterns carved by volunteer groups in the Wichita community. Each evening, family and friends will be captivated by talented aerial acrobatics and have their pulse race during the Haunted Woodland Walk. DJ Carbon will keep the beats pumping and food trucks will be available for an evening snack. Kids will enjoy a petting zoo, carousel rides and so much more at this family-friendly event. Ranging from spooky to fun, everyone will find something to enjoy!

Halloween Hall at Exploration Place – Oct. 6 -31

This new exhibit uses technology to create games on the floor and walls. Kids (of all ages) can dance, jump, and throw, and the sensors will read your movements to interact with the challenges.

Pumpkin Decorating – October 6

    • Pick a pumpkin from the Trader Joe’s patch and dress it up in stickers! Stickers, googly eyes, and other craft elements will be provided. Get creative with a craft from Love of Character. Sample some of Trader Joe’s favorite fall treats.

Haunted Hops at Botanica – October 12

Botanica is hosting a new event this year called Haunted Hops! This event will feature craft beer, live music, food trucks, and more. There’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Spooky Cookie Decorating with Bakesale Treat Parlor- October 13

Select from a trio of cookie kits, snag a seat on the Plaza, and start frosting! The kit will come with all the icing, sprinkles, and other delicious fixings you need to make your cute custom cookies. Bakesale helpers will be walking around to assist any curious kids! Get extra creative with a coloring sheet from Bakesale. Sample some of Trader Joe’s favorite fall snacks.

Wicked Pairings: Adults Only Event – October 20 

This one is for the adults. 21 and over. There will be thirteen stations will host cocktails and drinks, paired together with sweet treats and a few savory bites. Themed attire is highly encouraged. October is busy – take a night for the adults and enjoy a date night or evening with your friends. Tickets are limited, grab them now!

Candy Crawl at Clapp Park – October 20

Wichita Park & Recreation is hoping you have a spooky good time this Halloween season at Candy Crawl at Clapp Park! This free family-friendly event encourages everyone to dress up, grab your candy bag or bucket, and come visit local law enforcement, emergency personnel, park & rec staff, and local businesses and organizations for candy and prizes.

Children and their families will follow a one-way route through Clapp Park, stopping at vendor booths to collect their treats while listening to DJ KJ Entertainment.

BooBash – October 20 

Show up in costume and dance to some festive tunes courtesy of DJ4TheWin. Pssst, there will be prizes for the best dressed in our costume contest! Get crafty with Love of Character. Sample some of Trader Joe’s favorite Halloween treats.

Dinosaurs After Dark – October 20 & 21

Explore the trails of the Field Station at dark as you come across popular movie monsters and your favorite Halloween characters. This experience is a  spooky-not-scary, festive night of songs, activities, and, of course, treats! Costumes are incourrages.

Haunted Stroll: Boo Bash Trail – October 21 

Join us for one night only at the Haunted Stroll Boo Bash Trail. Walk the mile-long outdoor trails with monsters and ghouls of all kinds, artfully decorated scare scenes and frightening special effects; all created by Girl Scout Spookmasters!

Snacks, hot drinks and haunted amusement await your family. Recommended for fourth grade and up; it’s seriously spooky. Costumes encouraged!

City Crew Owl-O-Ween – October 22

Who wants to see and learn about some cool animals? The Kansas Wildlife Exhibit is an amazing opportunity to view up close non-releasable and often permanently injured wildlife ambassadors such as a bobcat, beaver, golden eagle, turkey vulture, hawks, quail, turtles and more. Odin, the one-eyed Eastern Screech Owl will be an Owl-O-Ween ambassador and will be brought out for short periods throughout the event. In addition to the exhibits, Crew Members are in for a special treat with a scavenger hunt that will take you to a variety of stations to learn about owls, snakes, turtles, bats, spiders, insects and more! Don’t forget to pick up a cool animal mask and grab some popcorn along the way. Receive a prize after completing the scavenger hunt and then wander over to the inflatable bounce house to work off some energy.

Hay, Hooves, and Halloween – October 21 & 22

Enjoy a truly safe family trick or treating family Halloween at Old Cowtown! The Headless Horseman rides the streets, dancing, costumes, zombie cowboys, ghosts haunting the historic houses, and of course, lots of candy for the kids!

Time to lace up those sneakers and get that blood pumping with 2 race options, a 5k or a 1k for the little ones. All Pumpkin Run participants will receive an event shirt and a finisher medal. Run in costume for extra fun!

Spooky Night of Treasures – October 27

Welcome to Wichita’s premier Halloween event, where history meets the supernatural! SPOOKY Night of Treasures 2023 invites you to discover the hidden secrets within the Museum of World Treasures. This is your chance to experience an unforgettable adventure inside a Museum. You can expect Historical haunting by live performers on all Museum floors and an open bar with themed cocktails, Appetizers, and desserts. Costume contest with fantastic prizes

Klausmeyer Farm Costume Contest & Trick-or-Treat – October 28 & 29 

Bring your kids to the patch dressed in their Halloween Costumes! They will get a chance to walk across our “stage” during any of our pig race times and show everyone their awesome costumes. Parents can enter their child’s name into a drawing for a chance to win a quilt. The winner will be announced on Sunday evening. We will also have trick-or-treating set up around the farm!
