Usually, on six evenings in October, Tanganyika Wildlife Park will host Pumpkins in the Park, featuring discounted admission along with fun and games, wildlife and candy. Unfortunately, Pumpkins in the Park has been canceled for 2020. However, they plan on coming back better than ever in 2021!
A pumpkin trail with lighted pumpkins and trick-or-treat candy stations will stretch throughout the park.
There’s a thematic waterfall light show, special Halloween characters and costumes, a 3-D maze, cage maze, escape rooms, spooky-fun inflatables, zombies, laser tag, and much more, like Halloween activities, crafts, and games for kids and adult beverages for the adults.
Older kids and teens may like the Cage Maze of Doom or participating in the Zombie Task Force (for an additional fee). Grownup drinks will be available at the Witches Brew.
Pumpkins at the Park is a fundraiser for Tanganyika’s Winter Fund that helps them raise the nearly $700,000 it takes to support the animals in their care.
What a fun way to provide a donation for their conservation efforts. We’re really privileged to have something like this in the Wichita area and to actually be able to visit and interact with the animals.
Admission to Pumpkins in the Park is $15 for everyone over 2 years of age.
Toddlers age two and younger who will be participating in trick-or-treating and other activities are $7 each. Every child/toddler admission will include a FREE mini pumpkin this year.
Buying tickets online in advance is definitely the way to go, because you’ll be able to get your ticket scanned and get into the park much faster. Tanganyika Director Matt Fouts told me there’s so much to do, sometimes people have a hard time getting it all done in three hours, so you’ll want to get in as soon as possible.
To save even more time, get the Pumpkins at the Park Super Pass (available only online) for $30. It speeds you through the line into the park and includes includes a Fast Pass for the Haunted Hayride, 3-D maze, reserved front-row seating to the Mad Scientist stage show, a souvenir photo, and other goodies. Those are available in limited quantities, but they’re on sale now so pick it up as soon as possible.
Tanganyika Season Pass holders may get an email again this year with a discount code, so keep an eye on your inbox!
