BOOtanica at Botanica is happening this year. This is one of Wichita’s best family-friendly Halloween events in town. When fall arrives in Wichita, it’s not just about cooler weather and pumpkin spice; it’s also the season for BOOtacnia, a festival celebration at Botanica, The Wichita Gardens. The event will take place on October 10, 17, and 24 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and on October 11, 18, and 25 from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm. BOOtancia Fall Fun in Wichita
BOOtanica! transforms Botanica into a colorful, hauntingly fun haven. Admission to BOOtanica! is $16 for non-member adults, $14 for Botanica members, and $10 for kids ages 3-11. Children 2 years old and younger receive complimentary admission. Tickets can be purchased prior to the event online HERE. With your ticket, you get admission to the gardens PLUS access to a slew of fall favorites, all rolled into one magical evening. Activities at BOOtanica!
Experience Mum-mania and wander through over 5,000 vibrant fall mums. Then take a stroll through Scarecrow Row on your way to the Spooky Woodland Light Show in the Woodlands. Every evening, from 6PM – 10PM, the Flying Pig Improv offers spooky fun with a theatrical twist in the Haunted Shakespeare Garden. In the main meadow, kids of all ages will enjoy Shadow Dancing, where colorful lights illuminate your own dancing shadow. Families can relax on the patio and enjoy viewings of your family’s favorite autumn tales, then grab a bite to eat and drink from a variety of local food trucks, including Urban Skillet, Want Bierock, the Little Blue Trailer, and Bar on Demand.
Don’t miss the Saturday Showdowns on the Grand Lawn Stage, which include a spooky pooch parade, frightful fashion show, and Minute-to-Win-It contest. Plus, each weekend features a variety of hands-on fall favorites, including axe throwing, pumpkin carving, trick-or-treating, face painting, live music, and more!
Lastly, mark your calendars for Sunday, October 26, from 12:00PM – 8:00 PM, as Botanica transforms into a lively pop-up BOOtanica for a truly special Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration! Get ready for an immersive experience where you can groove to the rhythm of live music performed by Mariachi Los Reyes, be captivated by the elegance of Ballet Folklorico performed by Raices De Mi Tierra, and unleash your inner artist by coloring sugar skulls and creating your own papel picado. Even after you’ve done all the activities and been thoroughly entertained, there is still plenty to see at Botanica. The 20 acres of the ever-changing botanical wonderland house more than 30 themed areas and over 4,000 plant species. As guests wind through the gardens, they will also discover additional gems.
