The planned reopening date for the Old Cowtown Museum in Wichita is Tuesday, June 2 – just in time for this great membership special! During the month of June 2020, you can get a discount of $10 on family memberships to Cowtown.
You can get it online at the Cowtown website here and use the promo code JUNE2020 during checkout!
Cowtown members get in FREE to almost all of Cowtown’s special events. Special events planned for this year include:
- Cowtown’s Birthday – A Night in the 1950s (grownups only)
- National Day of the Cowboy
- A Night in Old Delano (grownups only)
- People of the Plains
- Once Upon a Time
- Steampunk Day
- Roaring 20s (grownups only)
- County Fair
- Boos & Brews (grownups only)
- Hay, Hooves, and Halloween
- Victorian Christmas
- and more events are planned for 2020!
Not only that, but a family membership to Cowtown includes you, your spouse, and all of the kids up to age 18. That’s a deal even at the regular price of $65 per year.
In general, memberships to local attractions are a great way to save, but this discount makes a family membership to Old Cowtown Museum an unbeatable deal!
What makes this an unbeatable membership special?
There are several reasons I think the Family membership sale at Cowtown is a good idea. I talked about it with Jacky Goerzen, Cowtown’s director, and she told me that the membership covers two parents and all the kids under 18.
All the kids. That’s awesome.
If your family is larger than the average, you already know most local attraction memberships include a certain number of kids and then you have to pay extra. This one doesn’t.
Another reason this is a really good deal is that a Cowtown membership includes admission to the special events. Not all museum memberships do. Only fundraising events are excluded from the membership.
Plus, the regular price of a Cowtown family membership is only $65 (already super affordable). Getting it for $10 less is just icing on the cake. And when you get it this early, you have a full season of events and free admission to look forward to.
You also receive a 10% discount in the saloon and the mercantile gift shop.

Belly up to the bar for an ice-cold bottle of sarsaparilla and a hot dog in the Old Cowtown Saloon.
A Family Membership at Cowtown includes free admission for one full year from the date of purchase for two adults and all children (or grandchildren) in the family under 18.
That includes admission to special events throughout the year, like Celebrate America, Hay, Hooves, and Halloween, and Victorian Christmas, to name a few.
So basically you pay once and you’re set for family activities throughout the year.
How to get the Cowtown Family Membership Special
Normally you can pick up your membership and see a preview of this year’s events at Old Cowtown Museum’s FREE season launch party in April, but of course the circumstances in 2020 have not been normal. The best way this year will be to purchase it online and use the promo code JUNE2020 during checkout.
Members also receive 10% off in the saloon and in the Mercantile Gift Shop.
It’s already a steal at $65 per year, but from June 1 to June 30, 2020, all Family Memberships at Cowtown are an additional $10 off.
That’s $55 for a one-year family membership to Old Cowtown Museum.
Many cities have museums – only Wichita has the one-and-only, never-to-be-duplicated-again Cowtown.
Will a Cowtown membership save me money?
Before buying any membership, you might want to make sure it will save you money. One day’s admission to Cowtown for a family could cost $24 to $43 (or more, depending on the size of your family and your kids’ ages). You’ll easily pay for your membership with admission in just two visits.

Even in the Old West they appreciated a bargain!
What I think is one of the best perks, though, is that members get in free to the events too. Consider some of the special events Cowtown has coming up this year:
- Cowtown’s Birthday – A Night in the 1950s (grownups only)
- National Day of the Cowboy
- A Night in Old Delano (grownups only)
- People of the Plains
- Once Upon a Time
- Steampunk Day
- Roaring 20s (grownups only)
- County Fair
- Boos & Brews (grownups only)
- Hay, Hooves, and Halloween
- Victorian Christmas
- and more events are planned for 2020!
Only a very few events are excluded from the membership – basically fundraising events and Breakfast with Santa.
Wichita’s storied past is vividly brought to life through daily activities, special events and education programs.
Enjoy a year of fun with the whole family for only $55 by picking up your Old Cowtown Museum membership online (click here) using the code JUNE2020 on the second screen of the order form, or pick up your membership in person at the Visitor’s Center during the month of June when Cowtown opens again.
Note: City of Wichita owned properties require masks until further notice. You don’t have to wear a mask outside if you can maintain a 6′ distance between yourself and other guests, but you will need it to enter the museum and when you’re inside buildings.

Stop by the trapper’s cabin to see what kinds of furs he has.
Thank you for the heads up, I would have hated to miss this discount. Are you aware that, while most of the special events are included in the membership, some are not? Specifically, coming up the Night in Old Delano and the Roaring 20s are not included. I couldn’t find that information on the main website, but it is available here: https://cowtown.wildapricot.org/events
Thanks again. I appreciate all the work you put in tracking down and compiling these deals so I don’t have to.
Oh! Thank you for thinking to let me know about that, Lesa. I knew there were a couple of events excluded (the Wine Mosey and Breakfast with Santa), but I didn’t realize the other adult events were not included. Thank you!!!
This is awesome, we are definitely getting a membership! All the events sounds super fun. Thanks for the information.
