Celebrate America at Old Cowtown Museum

Sharing is caring!

Happy 4th of July! Get ready to celebrate America like its 1875 with Old Cowtown Museum’s annual Independence Day celebration.

This year, Cowtown is hosting the 4th of July fun on Saturday, July 5.

Enjoy old-time patriotic activities at this living history museum, which will be decorated with patriotic flags and buntings to mark the occasion. While you’re there, you might happen upon some drama between churchgoers and saloon patrons. Back in the 1800s, disputes were often solved by gunfight, so keep your eyes open for that!

  • Performance by Daisy Longstem Saloon Girls
  • Mini melodramas by the Empire House Players
  • An old-time medicine show
  • Vintage baseball game
  • Fun games like horseshoes and sack races
  • Wagon rides
  • Historical talks
  • and more!

This is a special Independence Day celebration that will be fun for the whole family. I love going to Cowtown during events like these because there are usually a lot of re-enactors and activities on these days!
