Dashing through the snow and oh what fun it is! Every year, we have only a few places in Wichita that usually offer horse-drawn carriage rides in Wichita. There is something incredibly magical about the experience of an old-fashioned carriage ride that will put even the must ‘humbug’ of people into the Christmas spirit!

Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides at Isle of Lights in Windfield

Lights on the River, hosted by Wichita Clean Streams, typically features carriage rides; however, this year’s event has been canceled due to the low river levels. But here are some more options.

The horse and driver at Prairie Pines have now retired, and the horse-drawn wagon rides will no longer be offered. Instead, horse-drawn and tractor-drawn hay-racks will take customers to the fields to choose a tree. Its still a lot of fun! On select weekends, little ones can ride the children’s train pulled by a small tractor. They operate the train on select weekend hours. This ride and Santa visits will be offered at no charge. Purchasing trees, decorations, and food items supports these activities.

Bradley Fair used to offer horse-drawn carriage rides, but a few years ago, it transitioned to train rides. The electric train will take you through the property.
Cost: $5 per person for ages 5+, and children 5 and under ride for free. A percentage of ticket proceeds benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Tickets can also be purchased on-site on the day of the event, but please note that no cash will be accepted. Digital card payment only. Nonrefundable. Read the full article for more info.

This holiday season, Applejack Pumpkin Patch transforms into a winter wonderland! Take in the Christmas-y sights from your seat on our motorized train. Rides are $2.

Carriage Rides at Merry & Bright
