More Halloween Date Night Ideas
Not every Halloween outing needs to be a party. If you’re looking for something fun to do with your spouse, a group of friends, or even a girls’ night out, there are a few more ways to celebrate around Wichita.
Visit a Wichita Haunted House
If you actually want someone to scare you, Wichita has several haunted attractions to choose from. Field of Screams, The Haunt at Walters, Wicked Island, and other Wichita-area haunts make an easy Halloween date night or group outing.
I have a whole Wichita Haunted Attractions Guide with the haunted houses, prices, dates, and details so you can decide just how scared you want to be.
Watch a Halloween Movie
This is probably the easiest Halloween date night! Wichita has quite a few horror movies, cult classics, and Halloween shows happening throughout October.
This year’s options include The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Orpheum, Rocky Horror Show performed live at the B-29 DOC Hangar, Regal’s 31 Screams on Screen, classic scary movies at Meyers, and more.
Check out my Halloween Movies & Shows Around Wichita guide for the full list.
Go to a Candlelight Concert
If haunted houses aren’t your thing, a Candlelight Haunted Evening at the Kansas Aviation Museum is another Halloween date-night option. I’ve been to one of these Candlelight concerts before, and it was awesome! The candlelit setting makes the whole experience feel extra special.
Explore Wichita’s Supposedly Haunted Places
Want to make your own spooky Wichita night? There are plenty of local ghost stories tied to familiar Wichita landmarks.
The Orpheum Theatre, Old Cowtown Museum, the Broadview Hotel, Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum, and several other local spots have ghost stories and reported paranormal experiences connected to them. I rounded those up in my Wichita Haunted Attractions Guide, too.
Halloween Fun for Grown-Ups in Wichita
One of the things I love about putting these lists together is realizing just how much there is to do around Wichita. Halloween doesn’t have to mean spending a ton of money at a big party, either. There are FREE events, unusual date nights, concerts, movies, markets, haunted attractions, and plenty of excuses to get a group of friends together.
And if you have kids like I do and need Halloween plans for them, too, don’t worry—I have a completely separate Wichita Halloween Events Guide packed with family-friendly events, trick-or-treating, pumpkin patches, fall festivals, and more.
