Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Orpheum

Location: Orpheum Theatre
Get ready to do the Time Warp at the historic Orpheum Theatre! The cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show returns to the big screen with two Halloween weekend screenings at 8 p.m. and midnight.
Costumes are encouraged, and prop bags will be available to add to the fun. The 8 p.m. showing is open to all ages with parental discretion advised and recommended for ages 17+, while the midnight showing is strictly 21+.
Starlite Drive-In Halloween Movies
Grab your blankets and favorite movie snacks! Starlite Drive-In is showing classic scary movie double features every Sunday in October, plus a special Halloween night showing. It’s a fun, affordable way to enjoy spooky season with friends or family!

Calling all horror movie and cult classic fans! Spend a Wednesday night watching classic scary movies with friends during Timeless Classics with Meyers. Doors are open from 5–9 p.m., with the movie starting at 7 p.m.
Before each film, Ryan will introduce it and share fun facts and interesting tidbits. It sounds like a fun, laid-back way to add a little horror to your Wednesday night, and it’s free if you are a paying customer.
Regal Scary Movies
This October, Regal is rolling out 31 Screams on Screen, giving horror fans a different classic scary movie to watch each day at participating locations for $7.99. Moviegoers can revisit old favorites or discover new chills on the big screen. Regal Crown Club members also get an extra treat, with weekly concession discounts available when purchasing a 31 Screams on Screen ticket.
Regal Cinemas now has a page of its website dedicated to horror movies it’s showing now, so you can watch thrillers whenever the mood strikes you.

If you loved the original Practical Magic, this is such a fun excuse for a fall movie night! Practical Magic 2 brings Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman back as Sally and Gillian Owens, nearly 30 years after the original cult favorite. The sequel returns to the magical world of the Owens family for another story filled with witches, family, romance, and plenty of nostalgia.
Seeing it at the Augusta Historic Theatre makes the outing even better. The beautiful Art Deco theater dates back to 1935 and still has that charming old-fashioned movie theater feel. With movies currently just $5, it’s also an affordable little road trip from Wichita and a fun way to experience a new release somewhere other than a traditional multiplex.
Starting October 23 and continuing until Halloween, the Kansas Cosmosphere in Hutchinson will be showing Halloween movies in its digital dome theater and planetarium. See the website here at cosmo.org for the full schedule!

Richard O’Brien’s “Rocky Horror Show”

This time, Rocky Horror is taking over an airplane hangar. Because Wichita.
Richard O’Brien’s “The Rocky Horror Show” comes to the B-29 DOC Hangar with a local cast, live band, and plenty of audience participation. This one is recommended for ages 18+ due to sexual content, strong language, and adult themes.
For even more Halloween fun, there’s a Halloween party after the October 30 performance and a special midnight performance on Halloween night.
A Candlelight: Haunted Evening at the Aviation Museum

Want a Halloween night out without the haunted-house scares? Enjoy Halloween favorites performed live by candlelight inside the Kansas Aviation Museum. I’ve been to one of these Candlelight concerts before, and it was awesome! The candlelit setting makes the whole experience feel extra special, and this Halloween version sounds like such a fun way to get into the spooky spirit.
The hourlong concert is for ages 8+, and guests under 16 must attend with an adult.

Killers of Kill Tony

Tallgrass Film Center
Tallgrass Film Center is in downtown Wichita, where you can enjoy a film with concessions, leather seats, and everyone is welcome. The Tallgrass Film Festival is held every year in October, and it was in the top 25 coolest Film Festivals in the World a few years ago.

AMC Scary Movies
Something frightening is creeping into AMC this season. With AMC Thrills & Chills, moviegoers can expect the ultimate lineup of horror and suspense, designed to deliver edge-of-your-seat experiences on the big screen.
AMC Theaters also has an AMC Thrills and Chills page on its website, allowing you to view what scary movies are currently playing at any given time.
Mosley Street Halloween
Frankenstein: In Transylvania, Kansas, two egotistical scientists, Dr. Frank and Dr. Stein, attempt to create life in a stormy lab filled with chaos, bickering, and botched experiments. With help (and interference) from their sassy assistant, Elvira, clueless newcomers Dick and June, and a kleptomaniac named Humpty, they bring a corpse to life using a mystery brain bought on eBay.
