Most stores will be having President’s Day sales and running discounts.  Below, we have provided a list of some national companies running deals. Nearly every retailer offers a Presidents Day discount, from startups to online shopping. We have also listed ideas on fun things to do in Wichita that won’t break the bank.

When is Presidents Day 2025? Presidents Day falls on Monday, February 17, 2025 this year.

This holiday is most commonly called President’s Day, but the federal holiday is officially called Washington’s Birthday. The day honors all of the previous presidents of the United States.

Of course, shopping isn’t what President’s Day is about, but many people have the day off of work, and it’s a bonus that so many stores offer deals.

Fun Facts about Presidents Day: 

  • George Washington was the only president unanimously elected. Meaning all of the state representatives voted for him.
  • 3 deaths- In the history of America, three presidents have died on July 4.
  • 8 deaths – Eight presidents have died while serving in office.
  • As president, William Henry Harrison served the shortest term with 32 days in office.
  • Franklin Delano Roosevelt is the only president to have served more than two terms.
  • To this day, John F. Kennedy is the nation’s youngest leader. He was elected at the age of 43 and died while in office at the age of 46.
  • Teddy Roosevelt and Franklin Delano Roosevelt were fifth cousins.
  • The “S” in Harry S. Truman does not stand for anything.
  • John Tyler had 15 children. The White House must have been hopping!
  • William Henry Harrison was the 9th president. His grandson, Benjamin Harrison, was the 23rd president.
  • Barack Obama won a Grammy Award in 2006 for his voice on the audio book Dreams From My Father.
  • After working at a Baskin-Robbins as a teen, President Obama no longer likes ice cream.
  • Bill Clinton enjoyed playing the saxophone and was a member of a band called “Three Blind Mice” in high school.
