PLAY is a space at the Wichita Art Museum that has been around for years, but this kids’ area has been newly redone with the new name – PLAY. This is a FREE area for exploration, creativity, and making memories. This is a great Indoor Play Area in Wichita.

Explore the world of joy and creativity at PLAY, open during standard museum hours. Whether you come with family or friends, there’s something for everyone in this dynamic drop-in space for all ages. PLAY offers a variety of rotating activities that support creative play, ignite the imagination, and connect visitors to the art collection.

The Wichita Art Museum Permanent Collection is FREE to visit and open to the public. You can visit the gallery and explore PLAY all for FREE. 

Pro Tip: Traveling Exhibits do cost to enter, but there is plenty to do and see that is FREE. Keep reading to find out.

Pro Tip: 

  •  Visit the Outdoor Art Garden. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It’s FREE.
  • The Wichita Art Museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays but open until 9 pm on Fridays.

  • You can walk on the Chihuly Bridge for FREE, but must take your socks off. Dale Chihuly is an internationally recognized glass artist.
