Wichita has a museum that’s particularly fitting for The Air Capital of the World, and one highlight offered by the Kansas Aviation Museum is their weekly kids’ program, where children can enjoy FREE admission. Keep reading for all the details!
The Kansas Aviation Museum, in Wichita, Kansas, is an excellent destination for people of all ages to explore and celebrate our city’s rich aviation heritage. Housed in the original Wichita Municipal Airport Terminal Building, an Art Deco structure completed in 1935, the museum showcases the evolution of aviation in the region. Visitors can explore a diverse collection of historic aircraft, and the facility also features a great Indoor Play Area for Kids. Fridays are the best days to go to get a deal on admission.

Little Aviators at the Kansas Aviation Museum
Little Aviators is now FREE for all children 12 and under and $5 for teens and adults from 10 am – noon every Friday.
Little Aviators is held on Friday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon. Kids get to play and learn in the Boeing Science, Math, and History Learning Center and the Lattner Hanger at the museum. During school breaks, they also usually offer more days or extended programming.

You’ll also get to explore the museum, see real airplanes parked out on the ramp, fly off to faraway places in one of the cockpits, and even test your skills on one of the flight simulators.
