Wowza! This is the best deal in town if you want to see new movies.
On Wednesdays, pay only $5 per ticket to see first-run movies at the Warren Old Town Theater Grille in downtown Wichita. (The five-dollar movie nights are still going on even since Regal purchased the theater!) This is a really fun theater where you press a button on the arm of your seat to have food or drinks brought to you.
You can purchase your tickets at the box office at the Old Town Warren theater, 353 N. Mead in Wichita, or you can buy them online at MovieTickets.com or at Fandango. (A convenience fee is added to tickets purchased online.)
The special $5 movie night excludes Director’s Suite seating and 3D movies, but you can get 3D movie tickets there for only $8 on Wednesdays. It also excludes movies from Sony Pictures.
There’s a free parking garage next to the theater, and plenty of shops to browse in the plaza. If you plan on ordering food from the theater grill, you’ll want to be there half an hour in advance. I hear they always have a jazz pre-show to enjoy.
During the summer, movies at the Old Town Warren start as early as 3 p.m.
I was told by the General Manager that “the Old Town Warren Theater Grille is the only all-digital, full-service luxury theater in the country.” See? Who says you can’t be living large when you’re living on the cheap? Doesn’t Wichita rock?
I did ask about the policy on their website that says, “No Patrons under 17 allowed after 8:00pm.” It doesn’t mean you can’t bring your kids to a movie that ends after 8 p.m., just that no one under 17 should be arriving after 8 p.m.
