Live the Good Life for Less & Never Miss a Deal

Heritage Square Concert Series 2025

The Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum will once again host its annual FREE concerts at Heritage Square in downtown Wichita. These are truly wonderful lunchtime concerts in a fabulous setting during one of the nicest months (weather-wise) we have in Wichita!

The Heritage Square Concert Series will be happening at noon every Wednesday this September. Bring your lunch (Wichita Restaurant Deals) to enjoy along with some live music in a great outdoor setting.

And did we mention? The concerts are free! Check out other Free Things to do in Wichita.

It’s such a fun event! Until I attended one of these free lunchtime concerts, I had never even seen Heritage Square Park. It. Is. Awesome. There’s a beautiful gazebo, pretty landscaping, and nice places to sit to enjoy your lunch.

Add in some of our best local musicians, and let me tell you – this is one of the coolest events going on in Wichita. (Plus, it’s free! Did I mention that?) Be sure to make the time to spend your lunch break downtown if you can. I know you’ll love it as much as I did.

Pro Tip: The Wichita-Sedgwick Historical Museum is FREE on Sundays.

Here’s the lineup of performers for this year’s concert series. All concerts begin around noon on Wednesdays in September.

  • September 3 – Intrepid Bass Quintet
  • September 10 – The House Band
  • September 17 – Mariachi Jalisco
  • September 24 – Dear Friends

Enter Heritage Square through the Historical Museum. Since this is an outdoor event, be sure to follow updates from the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum to make sure you hear about any weather-related changes or cancellations.

Where to Park

The museum is in the old Wichita City Hall building – the one with the cool clock tower on top. It is on Main Street, directly across from the old library.

There’s plenty of free and metered parking nearby. I think you can park for free in the WaterWalk lot, which is just a short walk away from the Historical Museum, or you can use the metered spots along William or at Century II across the street. Meters are cheap; if I remember correctly, each dime pays for 30 minutes of parking.

Downtown Wichita has a map that gives details on parking.

Heritage Square is accessed through the historical museum. The free concerts will take place every Wednesday in September over the lunch hour, beginning at noon.

About the Museum

For more than 80 years, the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum has worked to collect, preserve, and educate through the interpretation of our local history. Over the years the Museum has featured an encyclopedic range of exhibits telling stories using artifacts – material culture bearing tangible evidence of the past. Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums since 1972, the Museum is one of America’s finest museums and a tremendous community asset.

The Museum has occupied the Original City Hall building since the late 1970s when Heritage Square was created as a companion feature by the Junior League of Wichita. Heritage Square is accessed through the Museum.

    1. The square has picnic tables and benches around, and last year they had lots of additional seating set up, so I don’t think you’ll need to bring lawn chairs.

  1. Just an FYI: the map link does not seem to be working.
