Here are some fun and festive holiday events at the Crumm Castle in Riverside that will help kick off the Christmas season.
The castle, known as Campbell Castle, Crumm Castle, or the Castle Inn Riverside, is located at 1155 N. River Blvd. in Wichita.
If you’ve ever driven past it once, you’ve seen it. It makes you feel like you took a wrong turn somewhere and ended up in Scotland!

Christmas at the Castle
On November 24, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. the Castle will be open for viewing in its holiday splendor. This event, like the others, does have an admission fee. Else and Anna from Frozen will also be there from 1-3 p.m., and Santa (!) from 1-4 p.m. They’ll have live Christmas music at the Castle from 3-6 p.m. Visitors are welcome to take a self-guided tour and see this Wichita landmark on the inside. (Please leave strollers at home, as the staircases in the old castle won’t accommodate them.) Tickets are $10 plus fees at Eventbrite or $12 at the door.
Holiday Fun at the Castle
On December 2, join KC Women’s Events at the Riverside Castle for some holiday fun! Guests 12 years old and older can enjoy live entertainment, holiday vendors, and signature pampering services. There will also be a cash bar with holiday drinks provided by Giana Baci. (Of course, drinks are for those 21+ and ID will be required at the bar.)
Holiday Fun at the Castle will have two events that day to choose from. Admission for each is $10 plus processing fees and tickets are available at Eventbrite.
The two different sessions of Holiday Fun at the Castle are:
- Morning, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Afternoon, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Regarding handicap accessibility: Only the main floor of this historic building is handicap accessible. The only access to the second and third floors and to the basement is via staircase. If you need handicap parking, please contact KC Women’s Events in advance.

Christmas at the Castle December Event
With a holiday visit to the Castle in Riverside being such a popular Christmas activity, they’re going to offer it two different times.
On December 8 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., you’ll have another opportunity to visit the Castle in Riverside all decked out for the holidays. This time, Bell from Beauty and the Beast will be there from 1-3 p.m. wearing her new Christmas dress and Santa will visit again from 1-4 p.m. Live Christmas music will add to the festive atmosphere once again from 3-6 p.m. Self-guided tours are available at this event too. Tickets are available at Eventbrite for $10 plus processing fees or for $12 at the door. (Cash or credit cards can be taken at the door.)
The Riverside Castle open house was also offered last year in conjunction with the big Christmas lighting ceremony.
I don’t know how many other opportunities like this we’ll get, so if you’ve always wanted to see the castle on the inside this could be a really fun holiday event for you and the kids.
Even if you don’t want to see the inside, put the castle in Riverside on your Christmas lights itinerary!
Because of the steep castle stairs, they can’t accommodate strollers, infant seats, or wheelchairs. Public parking is available on the neighborhood streets, as the castle parking lot is reserved for volunteers helping at the event.
