Sharing is caring!
Open Streets ICT event in Wichita is a family favorite of ours. The City of Wichita has planned a fun and FREE community called Open Streets ICT NoMar for Sunday afternoon, May 4, 2025, in the North Market neighborhood. This event is a great way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, and its FREE to attend.
This event is open to everyone and will include a full day of fun physical activities, music, and food.
“Open Streets ICT provides more than just opportunities for physical exercise – it is an exercise in building community, cultural identity, and social engagement. By temporarily removing the danger of motor vehicles, Open Streets ICT provides a novel type of public space that helps people make social connections and lets them view the city through a new lens.” ~ Wichita Park and Recreation
Open Streets NoMar is an additional community-building event for the north end of town.
Open Streets ICT NoMar is designed to elevate the quality of life and health of the Greater Wichita community, particularly the North part of the city.
The City will close one mile from 21st Street to traffic from NoMar Market at Broadway to Woodland Park. The street will then be open for biking, walking, running, live music and dancing, entertainment, food, art, yoga and more. Make sure to look for our tent! We will be a vendor this year.
All along the one-mile stretch, there will be activity hubs, participating businesses, and food and street vendors.
Open Streets ICT has three different events throughout the year:
