Beginning October 13, 2025, Sedgwick County residents can submit a request for a coupon for FREE mattress disposal at Brooks Landfill.
What a deal! Normally, mattress disposal is NOT free. In fact, you would ordinarily pay $20 per piece to dispose of a mattress. This coupon from Sedgwick County is good for free disposal of TWO mattresses (a $40 value).
The coupon allows you to dispose of up to two mattresses or box springs of any size at no charge.
After you fill out the request form, the coupon will be mailed to you. And when you see it in the mail, get your buddy with the truck lined up because you’ll only have one month to get the job done. And treat that buddy well; once you get to the landfill, no assistance will be provided unloading the mattresses.
No other furniture, appliances, or trash will be accepted when you go to the dump for your free mattress disposal. Those items will require a separate trip — and a fee.
Usually when Sedgwick County offers these dump coupons, they are only available for a limited time, so seriously – go fill out the request form today.
Speaking of limits, there’s a limit of one coupon per household.
The coupons will be accepted at Brooks Landfill, 4100 N. West Street, Wichita, KS 67205. Call them at (316) 350-3225 to double-check the hours they are open. (I think they sometimes close because of weather conditions, too.)
