A Little Wichita History
Longtime Wichitans may remember this building before it was AMC.
The original Northrock 14 opened in 1998 as a Dickinson Theatre. It eventually closed in 2012, and at one point there were plans to convert the building into office space.
Thankfully for Wichita movie lovers, that never happened.
AMC acquired the property and completely renovated it before reopening the theater as AMC Northrock 14 on March 30, 2018. The renovation kept all 14 screens while adding modern amenities including leather recliners, reserved seating, upgraded technology, and a bar.
For those of us who grew up in Wichita, movie theaters have always been a big part of the local entertainment scene. It’s fun that the old Northrock location was given a second life rather than disappearing altogether.

Discount Matinee Tickets
Can’t make it on Tuesday or Wednesday?
Going earlier in the day is another easy way to save.
AMC offers 20% off evening base ticket prices for movies before 4:00 pm at participating locations.
I love matinee pricing, especially with kids. You can catch a movie in the afternoon, save on admission, and still be home before dinner.
Student Discounts
Students can also look for special AMC student pricing.
Bring a valid student ID and ask about the student ticket price when purchasing your ticket at the box office.
If you have teenagers or college students, remember to ask before paying the regular adult price.

A-List members can see up to three movies per week, including multiple movies in one day and repeat viewings.
Premium formats are also included, subject to AMC’s terms.
For someone who sees several movies every month, the math can work out very differently than buying individual tickets every time.

Let’s be honest: sometimes the snacks cost more than the movie.
