Two days of post-Thanksgiving family fun during Winter Art Mania

Need something to do besides (or after) Black Friday shopping? The Wichita Art Museum will be buzzing with FREE activities and admission over Thanksgiving weekend.

Just bring your family and friends after turkey day to WAM for a few hours full of fun. Family friendly activities are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for both of those days, and best of all – admission to the museum is FREE!

Winter Art Mania Activities include:

  • Make it/Take it art projects
  • Family-friendly films
  • Gallery explorations
  • Live music
  • and more fun surprises!

Winter Art Mania 2021: Ar(t)cade
“Get your game on and start your holiday season with us! We welcome kids of all ages to enjoy the fun and excitement of an ar(t)cade. This annual event takes on a new twist with two action-packed days of free admission with game-inspired artmaking stations, live music and dance performances, art-looking, and many more surprises. Challenge family and friends with Giant Connect Four, Giant Jenga, and Giant Checkers! The Wichita Children’s Theatre and Dance Center joins us Saturday for live performances that are sure to get you in the holiday spirit! What’s WAM thankful for? Our visitors! Winter Art Mania is sponsored by IMA.”

The after-Thanksgiving activities are planned from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. (See full schedule below.)

Thanksgiving Winter Art Mania Schedule

Friday, November 26

  • 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Art making activities for all ages.
  • 11:30 am to 1:30 pm    Live music with Bill Harshbarger and Friends, part of the Taste of Jazz series sponsored by the Wichita Jazz Festival.

Saturday, November 27

  • 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Art making activities for all ages.
  • 11:30 am and 1 pm  The Wichita Children’s Theater and dance Center performs a Holiday Dance Medley
  • 12 and 1:30 pm Live music with Bill Harshbarger and Friends, part of the Taste of Jazz series sponsored by the Wichita Jazz Festival.
