National Donut Day — or National Doughnut Day, as some spell it — is the first Friday in June. According to a press release from LaMars, the observance was started in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army in honor of the women who brought donuts to soldiers behind the front lines in World War I.
This year, National Donut Day is on Friday, June 5, 2026 (it’s always the first Friday in June). We already know about a couple of national donut chains that are observing the delicious holiday by offering customers a FREE donut.
Another way to celebrate is to visit one of Wichita’s favorite local sweet shops!
National Donut Day 2026
All of the offers are valid at participating locations while supplies last. Here’s a round-up of this year’s National Donut Day deals:
National Donut Day Deals in Wichita
- Krispy Kreme is giving away one free doughnut per customer with no purchase necessary (in-shop only) at participating locations while supplies last. This deal is for in-store only and excludes specialty doughnuts. They are also offering a dozen original glazed donuts for just $2 when you buy any dozen.

- Dunkin’ Donuts– Get a Free Donut with any drink purchase while supplies last.

- Paris Baguette on National Donut day you can get a free sugar mochi or small twisted donuty with any purchase.
- Lamar’s Donuts and Coffee- If you sign up for their Lover for Life card. Just for registering your card online, you will get a free donut and coffee on your next visit.

- Paradise Donut isn’t running any special deals, but they are encouraging customers to preorder to ensure they get their favorites before they run out.

That will let you print the coupon or show it on your phone on June 1 for a free donut.
