Sharing is caring!
Wichita is getting a brand-new music festival this Summer, and honestly, this sounds like one of the coolest local events of the year. Wichita Forever Fest is a Free, citywide Music and arts festival happening on August 22, 2026, featuring more than 100 local bands and artists across 10 different Wichita venues.
What makes this festival different is that it is completely focused on Wichita’s local creative scene. The event was created by local artists, for local artists, with the goal of supporting musicians, venues, and creatives while building more opportunities for Wichita’s growing music community.
And the best part? Admission is FREE. Check out my newest articles on Live Music.

Forever Music Event in Wichita
Most music festivals today are expensive before you even walk in the gate. Wichita Forever Fest flips that idea completely by making the festival open to everyone while still ensuring artists are paid for their performances. Organizers are funding the event through donations, sponsors, grants, and community support.
This is not just one stage or one park, either. The festival will spread across Wichita with performances happening at local venues and DIY spaces all over town, creating an all-day music experience where people can bounce from place to place, discovering new bands and artists.

Why I Love This Idea
This feels very Wichita in the best possible way. Local businesses, artists, musicians, and creative spaces all working together to create something unique for the city.
It also gives people a chance to discover local talent they might not otherwise see. Wichita has so many creative people, and events like this help spotlight what makes the city special.
