Wichita Transit will offer FREE bus rides on Election Day. In honor of Election Day, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 Wichita Transit will offer free bus rides on all traditional bus routes and paratransit service.
Free rides are valid for everyone riding to or from polling locations as well as any other trip during the day. Riders do not need to provide documentation of voting to receive a ride. Transit buses will operate on a regular weekday schedule with service hours that span the full voting hours of each polling location.
Wichita Transit to Provide Free Rides on Election Day
Individual polling locations can be found by visiting the Sedgwick County Election Office website at sedgwickcounty.org/elections. A free online trip planner, along with bus route and schedule information is available at wichitatransit.org.
Fun Fact: For Election Day 2023, they provided 6,144 free rides which is a 13% increase in Election Day ridership when compared to 2022.
Wichita Transit is an inexpensive way to get around town. Buses run Monday through Saturday each week. The buses do not run on holidays. For more information on days and times check out the rider’s guide.
The major bus station is in Downtown Wichita at 214 S Topeka St, but you can find bus stops all throughout Wichita.
