Sharing is caring!
Get introduced to one of the neatest places in Wichita. Every other Monday is an open house at MakeICT, your friendly local makerspace.
MakeICT’s first location was an unassuming building on East Douglas. (Someone described it as “the coolest garage in town.”) However, in March the local maker group moved into its newer, bigger location, a former school, at 5920 E. Mt. Vernon.
The group brings together artists, artisans, tech aficionados, and tinkerers. If you’ve never seen a 3D printer, go see one, and take at gander at all the cool tools available for members.
Membership is crazy inexpensive, so if you find yourself drooling over equipment then you just might want to sign up.
The MakeICT makerspace hosts an open house event every other Monday evening. We call these “Maker Mondays”, and it’s a great way to experience the makerspace and the maker culture in person.
The Maker Monday open houses are always free and open to the public. Bring a project, bring a friend, or just bring yourself. There’s always something interesting going on!
Be sure to check the calendar to find out when the next Maker Monday is scheduled.
These days, pre-registration is required so they can safely limit group sizes. Register online and double-check the event calendar at the MakeICT website here.
