Exploration Place is hosting Kaleidoscope, a free event in the Wichita Foundation Amphitheater. You can experience something totally unique—for free! Kaleidoscope, a one-of-a-kind outdoor event where families can discover the magic of opera in a fun, kid-friendly way.
Enjoy a free performance of Mr. Brewster’s Invigorating Invention by Opera Kansas—an imaginative, high-energy show for kids!
That’s not all, before and after the show, enjoy free hands-on activities that celebrate color through art, science, and creative play. It’s the perfect way to spend a day together, spark your child’s creativity, and try something new at Exploration Place.
Opera Kansas will perform “Mr. Brewster’s Invigorating Invention” in the amphitheater at 11 am and 2 pm. The show is appropriate for all ages.
What to Expect at Kaleidoscope:
- Meet-and-greet with the performers after each show.
- DIY kaleidoscope kits so kids can make their own to take home while supplies last.
- Face painting
- The kids can color pages
- Create chalk art
- Make friendship bracelets
- Yard games
- Inflatable balloon/bubble house
- Giant kaleidoscope (it’s like 5’ long!)
