No kidding! ALL kids 17 and younger can play golf for free at any Wichita Public Golf Course this summer! Junior golfers can play for free with Golf Wichita! This offer is valid for junior golfers age 17 and under, and children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Please note that golf cart rentals are not included.
You may have seen our posts about the Junior Golf Program, SNAG – Starting New at Golf Lessons, or the ‘Hook a Kid on Golf’ Articles, which are all other great ways to learn how to play.

Wichita began offering free golf for juniors, with the goal of making golf accessible to any kid who wants to play.
How to Play for FREE? Just book a tee time at golfwichita.com or through the Golf Wichita app. When you check in at the clubhouse, fill out a quick online form on your mobile device and show it to staff for verification—then you’re ready to hit the course for free! The form must be completed for each round played, with no exceptions.
I spoke with Shana Appelhanz, with Wichita Parks and Recreation. She said there are some things you should know about free golf for juniors at Wichita Public Golf Courses.
- First and foremost, this is completely gimmick-free, and there are no strings attached.
- Juniors can golf for free at any of the four Wichita Public Golf Courses.
- Book a tee time at GolfWichita or through the app. Show up before tee time, check in at the clubhouse, and go out and play 9 or 18 holes.
- No instruction is included. Clubs are not provided. (If you don’t have clubs you can rent them in the clubhouse. The price may vary depending on what club you go to, but my understanding is that the price may be somewhere between $10 and $25 to rent a set of junior golf clubs.)
- Junior golfers will be required to fill out a contact sheet every single time they golf.
- An adult must accompany kids 10 and under.
This is a perfect way for junior golfers to spend their summer!
