Fall is one of my favorite times to get out and enjoy Wichita. Temperatures start cooling down, patios become enjoyable again, and concerts, festivals, and outdoor events happen all over town. Even better, you don’t always need an expensive concert ticket to hear great live music.
I’ve put together this guide to free and cheap fall concerts in Wichita, Kansas, including outdoor concerts, local bands, festival performances, live music at Wichita attractions, and other affordable ways to catch a show. Many of these concerts are completely free, while others are included with inexpensive event admission.

Free Concerts in Wichita This Fall
Wichita has a surprisingly large number of free concerts throughout September, October, and November. You’ll find everything from local bands and jazz to country, rock, orchestras, cultural performances, and live music at community festivals.
Vibe Concert Series at Exploration Place
The Exploration Place Levitt VIBE Concert Series brings eight weeks of FREE live music to Wichita. Concerts take place at the Wichita Foundation Amphitheater at Exploration Place, offering a great spot for families, friends, and music lovers to gather and enjoy live music along the Arkansas River.
Fall Concerts at Chicken N Pickle

Farmers Markets this Fall
Most farmers markets offer free live music while you shop from local and regional vendors. Fall is one of the best times to get outside, enjoy the cooler weather, shop local, and spend a morning at a farmers market.
Fr3dom Music Series this Fall
FR3EDM is a fund way to lister to a communily jam session and this happens at Naftzer park during Final Fridays through October.
Free Live Music at Wichita Fall Festivals
Don’t overlook Wichita’s fall festivals when you’re looking for free concerts. Many local festivals include live bands and performances with free admission, which means you’re essentially getting a concert along with all the other festival activities.
Some events also feature several performers throughout the day, so you can come and go or stay for an entire afternoon of music.

It’s a great way to discover new music and enjoy a full day out in Wichita without breaking the budget.
Walnut Valley Music Fest in Windfield
The Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield is definitely one of the pricier festivals on this list, but it can still be a great value when you consider how much entertainment is included. You’ll get days of live music, multiple stages, contests, vendors, and that one-of-a-kind festival atmosphere all in one admission. If you love bluegrass, folk, and acoustic music, the amount of live entertainment packed into the weekend can make the ticket price well worth it.
Free Concerts Can Make a Great Wichita Date Night
Live music is one of my favorite inexpensive date-night ideas. Pick a free outdoor concert, grab dinner during happy hour or split something from a food truck, and you’ve got an entire evening planned without needing expensive concert tickets.
They’re also fun for families. Outdoor concerts tend to give kids a little more room to move around, and you can often bring lawn chairs or blankets and make an evening of it.
