We have so many holiday shows, Christmas pageants, concerts and other holiday entertainment in Wichita it’s difficult to keep track of them all! Here’s where we’ll be posting new ones as we find them.
In this list you’ll find productions from community theaters, concerts from local musical groups, student performances, Christmas movies on the big screen, and more. Some will be family-friendly while others are just for grown-ups!
All of them will be fairly inexpensive, and if we find out about a discount on the typically more expensive events, we’ll let you know about those here too.

Music Theatre of Wichita Holiday Special
Last year, when nearly everything had to be virtual, MTWichita recorded this holiday special, which was broadcast online and on KPTS Channel 8. You can still watch it for free via Vimeo. If you lose the link, go to mtwichita.org, look for Show Tickets and then click on Special Events.
You kinda do need to see Santa and Mrs. Claus’ rendition of “Baby It’s Cold Outside.”
Stan Kenton Christmas Brass concert
Stan Kenton was a renowned jazz arranger and educator who was born in Wichita, KS. One of the legacies he’s left behind is the annual presentation of brass big band Christmas carols at West Heights UMC. The concert is free and open to the public and will be held Dec. 12, 2021.
Nutcracker Wichita KS 2021
While there aren’t a lot of discounts or coupons for Nutcracker performances, we’re just happy to have in-person performances finally. And thankfully, really excellent quality shows in Wichita are also affordable. Just remember! Before you buy tickets to any Christmas show, check Groupon in case they have any discounts.
Here’s another money-saving tip: Instead of buying an expensive Nutcracker ornament at a show, why not hit up Michael’s or Hobby Lobby beforehand for a nice-but-less-expensive one? Your kids are definitely going to want one after seeing the ballet!
