The Friends of the Wichita Art Museum will again host its annual Art and Book Fair on Mothers Day weekend. The fair is a fantastic and FREE Mothers Day event. (Admission to the special Georgia O’Keeffe exhibit is not free.)
According to the Wichita Art Museum’s Facebook event page, 2019 will be the Museum’s 60th and final year for the Art and Book Fair.
This is a great opportunity to find wonderful art to buy, pick up great used or rare books, stroll through the museum’s sculpture garden, tour the art museum, enjoy live music and delicious food from the Muse Cafe or the food trucks parked outside.
The art show and sale portion of the event is held outdoors.
Artist tents will be scattered around the paved areas of the museum grounds, where you’ll find paintings, ceramics, photography, mixed-media, and other art that will make a perfect gift or new treasure in your own collection.
You’ll not only be able to peruse and purchase art, but also chat with the artists themselves.
The book fair will be held inside the museum.
Hundreds of books in every genre will be available – not only books about art, but also fiction, biographies, Kansas/regional literature, cookbooks, coffee table books, children’s books, and more.
Besides the art and the books, live music performances throughout the day and great food will make the event even more special.
