When is the Kansas State Fair this year? It is September 5 – 14, 2025, in Hutchinson, Kansas. These ten days are packed with fun for all ages. This fair is the largest single event in Kansas and annually attracts approximately 350,000 people. You can enjoy mouthwatering food, live music, agricultural exhibits, and more.

It’s amazing to think that the Central Kansas Fair has been around since 1903, and was officially recognized by an act of the state legislature to give it the legitimate title of “The Kansas State Fair”.

How Much is Kansas State Fair Tickets?

Pro Tip: The cheapest you can visit the Kansas State Fair is by visiting on Dillons Dollar Day. You can get admission for just $1.

Advanced Ticket Discount Prices (through Sept. 5)
– Adults (ages 13-59) $7
– Seniors (ages 60+) $4
– Military $4 (must be purchased in person at the Fair’s Ticket Office or at a gate upon arrival)
– Children (ages 6-12) $4
– Children 5 & Under FREE

Regular State Fair Ticket Prices (beginning Sept. 6) – These tickets are available at the gates when you arrive at the Fair or you can stop by a Dillons store.
– Adults (ages 13-59) $10
– Seniors (ages 60+) $6
– Military $4 (must be purchased in person at the Fair’s Ticket Office or at a gate upon arrival)
– Children (ages 6-12) $6
– Children 5 & Under FREE

Gate admission after 9 pm will be $5

Where is the Kansas State Fair?

  • 2000 N. Poplar, Hutchinson, Kansas.

Directions to the Fair from Wichita:

If you’re coming from Wichita, it’s easy to get to Hutchinson:

1 – Take K-96 West until you get to the Yoder exit. Head north on Yoder road into Hutchinson, past the airport and it will turn into 17th Street. This road will take you right to the fairgrounds. If you want to avoid congestion during busy times, turn north on Lorraine Street to 23rd Street and then come into the east side of the grounds. This lot is closest to the WILL CALL building.

2- If you’re aiming for the west or northwest side of the grounds, consider taking K-96 to South Hutchinson and continue north to downtown Hutchinson, where you can turn north on Adams Street to 2th Street, also known as (State Fair Road). This brings you to the north side of the Fairgrounds.

3 – Take I-35 North to Newton and head west on Highway 50 to the Yoder Road/Airport Road exit. Head north past the airport where it turns into 17th Street. This road will take you right to the fairgrounds. If you want to avoid congestion during busy times, turn north on Lorraine Street to 23rd Street and then come into the east side of the grounds. This lot is closest to the WILL CALL building.

Pro Tip: Mornings and weekdays are much less crowded—perfect for kids 5 and under. Rides like the train and giant slide are open in the mornings with short lines. If you have older children focused on the midway, start in the livestock barns and exhibit buildings, as the carnival is not usually open in the morning—and sometimes not until later in the afternoon. Watch the schedule.

  • 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. First Friday
  • 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. First Saturday through last Saturday
  • 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Last Sunday

Do Grandstand Tickets include Fair Admission?

  • Yes, concert/event tickets will have a gate admission built into (one) ticket. The gate ticket is valid ONLY on the day of the event. Demo Derby will not include gate admission.

Camping at the Kansas State Fair

  • Full-Service RV Park: Reservations are required. The Kansas State Fair RV Park contains 211 full-service 50-amp hookups and is open year-round for RV campers. For information, contact them at 620-669-3600 or find out more about Camping at the State Fair here.
  • Tent Camping: Parking lots A and C offer $10 per night camping sites. Tents are allowed only in these areas. Other than trash cans, no services will be providedCLICK HERE for more information.

Attractions in Hutchinson, Kansas

  • Cosmosphere – Is a Center & Space Museum that includes a collection of U.S. space artifacts second only to the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum. It also is home of Apollo 13 and has the largest collection of Russian space artifacts outside of Moscow.
  • Strataca – A journey 650 feet underground into the exotic world of a working salt mine.
  • A progressive downtown with many locally owned businesses, including a local produce market, a bookstore, antiques, a fabric shop, jewelry stores, kitchen stores, clothing stores, restaurants and coffee shops.
  • A local airport
  • Hiking & Biking Trails – More than 12 miles of dedicated all-weather hike and bike trails are available throughout the community.
  • Hutchinson Sports Arena and Gowans Stadium – Hutchinson hosts the NJCAA National Men’s Basketball Championship, NJCAA Division 1 Volleyball Championship, Division I Mens and Womens Outdoor Track and Field Championship and the NJCAA Salt City Bowl.
