Free Entrance to Kansas State Parks on Black Friday

Sharing is caring!

This year, Kansas State Parks are offering a Black Friday deal everyone can enjoy, and you won’t have to wait in line. (I guess you could camp out the night before though!) Black Friday, is a free entrance day to all Kansas State Parks!

Kansas State Park daily vehicle permits, normally about $5, are not required on Black Friday. Other fees, such as camping fees, will still apply.

Spend Black Friday outdoors, hiking, biking, or just relaxing at a Kansas state park and you’ll not only find yourself a little happier and healthier, you’ll also be able to give your wallet a rest. That’s a win-win.

This Kansas State Parks Black Friday deal gives a whole new meaning to “free.” Free yourself from the shopping chaos, feel the freedom of being in nature, and enjoy a free day at the lake or on a trail.

Two of our favorite hiking trails are at Cheney State Park, and we discovered another awesome trail at El Dorado Lake State Park near the Walnut River campground. The thing about these nature trails is that they look different during different seasons, so you can hike the same trail but get a whole new experience.

You could also go fishing at one of the state park lakes, pack a picnic and take advantage of the picnic areas, or – one of our favorite things to do at any park we’re not familiar with – drive all the way around and through the park, scoping out the different campgrounds and fishing spots for next spring!

KDWP offices will be closed that day and many staff will also be heading outdoors.

Be a part of the #optoutside movement by posting a picture of you and your family at one of the 26 Kansas state parks on Black Friday to Instagram or Twitter with the hashtags #myksstatepark and #optoutside.

Learn more about Kansas state parks, including information on facility updates, directions and how to make reservations, at ksoutdoors.com/State-Parks.

Opt to go outside this Black Friday and get the best deal of all: the feeling of free. (We like free.)
