Sharing is caring!
If you know any 5th through 9th graders who want to earn a summer income mowing lawns, be sure to set aside a few hours during Spring Break for them to take the Youth Lawn Mowing Clinic at the Sedgwick County Extension. The clinic will be held this year on March 16, 2022.
Sign up early for the clinic and pay only $10 per participant. After March 2, the fee will be $15 per participant.
Space is limited, so register early because classes do fill up.
The training will include information about types of lawn grasses and their proper care, lawn mower safety and maintenance, and good business practices. Graduates will be given an information packet and business cards. Each graduate will be awarded a $10 scholarship upon completion of the clinic, and will receive a certificate of completion.
For youth who register early, the scholarships will cover the cost of registration!
Kids will learn:
(1) lawn grasses and their proper care
(2) lawn mowing safety
(3) lawn mower maintenance
(4) lawn mowing business basics
The Youth Lawn Mowing Clinic will be held at the Sedgwick County Extension Education Center at 21st and Ridge in Wichita. There will be two sessions (morning or afternoon) to choose from.
- The morning session will run from 9:20 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (Check-in starts at 9 a.m.)
- The afternoon session will run from 1:20 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Check-in starts at 1 p.m.)
The cost of the clinic is only $10 for early registration or $15 after that. Space is limited so make sure to register early, because classes do fill up.

Has the Lawn mowing clinic been rescheduled? Or is there an online version that might be offered? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kyle Geffert
