Once you’ve visited the pumpkin patch, it’s time to decide what you’ll carve into your pumpkin! I’ve found a huge variety of FREE pumpkin carving patterns you can print and use to make the best jack-o-lanterns on the block.
The Pumpkin Lady used to sell patterns for carving pumpkins (they’re amazing), but now it seems that she just gives them away. This is one of the best resources I know of online for taking your pumpkins to the level of awesome (including videos). Just go check out the freebies on the Pumpkin Lady website.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas has Halloween party recipes and some free Kansas-themed pumpkin carving stencils.

(All the sites have instructions on how to carve the pumpkins. I bought a cheap set of carving tools at Wally World a few years ago and they’ve been working pretty well.)
And here’s a new one to me: The Pumpkin Masters website is also offering free pumpkin carving patterns. These are fun and still kid-friendly but a little bit spookier than some others. (Looks like the free carving stencils aren’t available on this site anymore.)
