Sharing is caring!
We are sad to hear that NuWay is closing two of its stores in Wichita. We love “Cumbly is Good.” Our family has celebrated many birthdays and Father’s Day at NuWay. My father-in-law is a walking advertisement for their chili. My husband’s grandparents went every week and sat in the same booth. When my husband and I met, one of many things we had in common was that both our families loved our local NuWay. We both have wonderful memories of going to enjoy a rootbeer float and a crumbly burger. We still visit often and now share the crumbly burger with our daughter.
NuWay is one of Wichita’s oldest restaurant groups. NuWay in Normandie opened in 1980’s but in 2021, it was demolished to make room for the new McDonald’s.
Is the Original 1930s NuWay at 1416 W. Douglas closing? NO, so that’s good.
The Two Locations they are keeping are:
- 1416 W Douglas
- 7301 West Central (at Ridge Road)
The Two Locations they are closing:
- 3441 east Harry Street
- Normandie Shipping Center
Wichita Freinds, please support the two locally-owned stores that are staying open. NuWay has so much history in our community. Plus, it’s delicious!
