Sedgwick County residents who meet income guidelines can register for free spaying and neutering for pet cats on Saturday.
The Kansas Humane Society is offering FREE cat spay/neuter and microchip services for low income households!($40,000 or below annual household income.) Proof of income is not required.
The cats must be friendly and easy to handle. Cats must be brought in a carrier. No feral (wild) cats allowed. Only pets allowed.
This service will be offered on a first come, first served basis. Services will be offered to the first 50 cats. Drop off starts at 7 a.m. and ends once all 50 spots are filled. This is a popular event and they will be busy so plan to arrive early! Cats must be in a carrier. Only one cat per carrier is allowed, no exceptions. However, there is no limit on the number of cats per household. Cats must be at least 2 months old and 2 pounds.
The owner will be called to pick up the cat once it has recovered from surgery and must be able to pick up pet the same day.
