Sharing is caring!
To celebrate National Ice Skating month, The Wichita Ice Center will hold free ice skating lessons on January 5!
“If you’ve always wanted to try ice skating, this is your chance to do it for free! We will have three 30-minute group instructed lessons at beginning levels for anyone who has never been in a learn to skate class. If you’re regularly in learn to skate classes already, this is the time to bring your friends to show them how fun ice skating can be!”
For this event, skates will be provided by the ice center, so you do not need to bring your own or rent them. Just be sure to bundle up in layers because the rink is cold!
Kids can participate in the free skating lessons. They should probably be at least 4 years old so they can stand upright on skates and follow the instructors instructions. But the free skating lessons aren’t limited to kids!
Free 30-minute lessons are scheduled for:
- 10 a.m.
- 10:35 a.m.
- 11:10 a.m.
There’s a limit of 75 skaters per session and it will be first-come, first-served so be sure to arrive early to guarantee your spot.
The ice center is located at 505 W. Maple Street in Wichita. Parking is pretty easy since the ice center has its own lot.
The free ice skating lessons and Wichita Ice Center open house will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019.
While you’re there you can find out more about ice skating lessons that the ice center offers throughout the year.
