On the first Saturday of the month, participating Home Depot stores in Wichita offer free kids’ workshops for kids ages 5-12.
Kids get to build/assemble a new project each month. They’ll also take home a Home Depot workshop apron, a commemorative pin, and a certificate of achievement.
The workshops are available between 9 a.m. and noon.

Some of these make-and-take crafts are pretty cool. Past projects have included a painted wooden toolbox or valet organizer for dad (around Father’s Day), a rain gauge, coaster set, a school bus pencil holder, and even a helicopter!
Visit the Home Depot workshops page here and choose a store to see what free kids’ workshops are coming up. Tip: If you don’t find a workshop at the west location, try the North Woodlawn location instead, and vice versa.
